Meet Samantha

Hello, I'm Samantha! I am so happy that you have found your way here!

I am an occupational therapist who works with individuals and groups living with chronic conditions to improve the management of their symptoms and embrace the belief that a diagnosis does not define a person.

During my career thus far, I have had the opportunity to work in various settings from in the hospital to community based non-profits. Regardless of the acuity or diagnosis, I believe the goal is the same: to help people live a fulfilling life.

Along with being a practicing occupational therapist, I am a Reiki master, (acro)yogi, explorer, nature-lover, silly song singer, and a million other things all wrapped up in one.  I live with the reputation of always being on the dance floor at weddings, having the earliest bedtime of anyone you know, and being incredibly cheesy. I also have lived with depression and anxiety for most of my life.

It took me a long time to learn to love myself with my imperfections. I dedicated myself to finding my unique practice in wellness so that I could be the best therapist. friend, and human I could be. I soon learned that practicing self care + self love allowed me to more fully care for and love others.

My wellness practice continues to evolve with each day & I welcome you on this journey with me.

About Self Care + Self Love

This project first started as a celebration of people who found wellness despite chronic illness. At the time I was going through a lot of changes and I felt I was losing touch with  the person I wanted to be. So, I started to look towards the people in my life that inspired me in their reluctance to let change in life cirumstance or a chronic illness get in the way of the life they dreamed of.  I was celebrating who I was lovingly referring to as "Wellness Warriors."

Then one day, I was sitting at a coffee shop and speaking with the person next to me and he asked what I believed the first step to finding wellness is. My answer came quickly. I said, "Wellness begins with a practice in self care and self love." It was clear to me in that moment that when you learn to choose yourself, you learn what you need most to be your best self. I decided it was time to create a space that is dedicated to that practice.

"Wellness begins with a practice in self care and self love."
